| Nurses & doctors needed | |
 In this placement, you will be working alongside nurses and doctors in Ghana rural hospitals and health centres.You will find this placement challenging since you won't have all the facilities you are used to back at home, so be prepared! You may come with medical equipments, drugs, cloths for the sick and needy children. This is an excellent opportunity for you to learn and understand the challenges faced by your counterparts in the developing countries. You will have the opportunity to share your experience with the local health professionals. Volunteers are awarded with certificate after their volunteer work. Who can volunteer Students in the medical field, nurses, health professionals, social workers, midwifes etc. are welcome. Volunteer job - Health screening - Consulting - Health talk - Assist Patients - Help in children Department - Promote HIV/AIDS awareness and malaria prevention. What to expect  You will be fully immersed into Ghanaian life, experience the culture and have opportunities to explore places of interest. You will leave with very fond memories of patients and Ghanaians. Management The project coordinator is Theresah. She has been working for the Ghana Health Service for several years and is very passionate about her nursery work and love to care for the sick people especially the poor sick children. She will communicate with you as you book and plan your journey. Accommodation You will stay at our volunteer quarters,and share room with other volunteers. The house is well furnished with essential facilities such as toilet, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dinning hall, running water and electricity. The staff would readily cook for the volunteers but volunteers are to prepare their own food whenever they want. Both local and continental dishes will be cooked. Accommodation & Food cost We really appreciate your gift of time and try to keep costs as low as possible. The price includes all meals and accommodation on site in a comfortable shared room. If you would like to arrange a private transfer from the airport to the house,this is an additional $30/$50. Accommodation fees: Under one month- $300 One month- $400 Two months- $500 Three months- $600 Each subsequent month- $200  Environment The neighborhood is quiet with easy access to and from Accra. From the volunteer house to the Health centre is 2 minutes walk and to the hospital is 10 minutes. People at the community are welcoming, lovely and ready to assist you whenever needed. | |
